Product Stewardship

In the EFMA (European Fertilizer Manufacturers Association) stewardship programme, all fertilizer producers undertake to make a particular effort to maintain a high level of safety, quality, health and respect for the environment.
Product stewardship should ensure that:

• Mineral fertilizers, including their raw materials and intermediate products, are manufactured, processed, stored, transported and used safely.
• Mineral fertilizers meet society's requirements for the production of safe food and feed.

K+S Nitrogen GmbH, together with BASF SE, its main supplier of fertilizers containing ammonium nitrate, and COMPO GmbH & Co. KG, has made product stewardship an element of its corporate strategy. It thus ensures not only that it will comply with the applicable legal regulations, but, furthermore, implement high quality and safety standards.

In this respect, K+S Nitrogen GmbH ensures that, to the best of its knowledge and exploiting all the options available to it, the fertilizers it introduces onto the market are produced, stored, transported, marketed and used in a safe form, with the aim of providing the best possible protection of mankind, nature and the environment.
